As the world grows, so is communication. In many countries earlier, people use to send messages through horses, birds, messengers and through telegrams. As the world moved ahead, we post letters through Post Offices and Couriers. Today in this high communication small world, we do not have to post letters, as its just a ‘click’ away from the other person. Mercury is the fastest planet in the solar system and moves in greater speed than any other planets and hence the natives with well placed Mercury can think fast and make indelible work for society through their great ideas. Mercury is the smallest and innermost planet in the Solar System. Its orbital period around the Sun of 87.97 days and is the shortest of all the planets in the Solar System. Mercury, the messenger of the Gods is named after a Roman Deity. Mercury orbits the Sun within Earth’s orbit and never exceeds 28 degree away from the planet Sun. When viewed from Earth, this proximity to the Sun means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.

Mercury represents many sectors starting from Trade, Communication, Intellect and all forms of write-ups etc, but the most important thing that this planet represents is about Clue’s to one’s problems. A well-placed Mercury will provide one with the necessary types of intellect through which one gets over situations and that’s where one comes out in flying colour. Mercury provides sudden ideas based on which one moves ahead in life. Suppose, you are into a job for many years and struggling to make a mark and suddenly, one moment, you find that an idea that made you think differently, helped you to do things unique and thus move ahead in life. Well, to my experience there can be two planets attached in such types of phenomenon’s i.e planet Uranus and Rahu. These planets provide sudden thoughts which leads to great innovations.

But there is a difference between the thoughts shared by Planet Rahu and Planet Uranus with that of Planet Mercury. The basic difference lies in the fact that Planet Mercury may provide Ideas which can make you get success in your daily life, either in your career or business, but Planet Rahu produces a thought, which changes the world and so is with Uranus. Hence, Planet Mercury plays a very important role in one’s life as it’s the giver of IDEAS and intelligence. It shows the way forward in difficult times. There are many humans whose Planet Mercury is not in good position and struggles to get more of life, even if they may have the best education, qualification and schooling. If you have to move ahead in life, strengthen your planet Mercury in the basic horoscope chart. These can be done by loving environment, the greenery, connecting yourself with Nature, breathing in pure air (by that I mean, Air free from pollution), Understanding your connect with this Mother Earth etc.

Planet Mercury plays a very important part in one’s life as it rules the nervous system. There was a time, when the world population was less and it was easy to get job as per one’s choice. Not many people had to do a job, since most people had other means to collect money through farming, intellectual paper publishing, providing one’s property from rents etc. The basic necessities use to be available at less cost and life was easy. So, you have time to cheer with your known friends then, have time to drink and relax near a lake to see albatross, take part in mass celebrations, see theatres and relax with country songs. It was then and today, as I write, life has become fast.

Some are of the view that the Global Human Population growth amounts to around 83 million annually or 1.1 % per year. The Global population has grown from 1 billion in 1800 to 7.6 billion in 2017. It is expected to keep growing and estimates have put the total population at 8.6 billion by mid-2030. In recent centuries, human population has increased significantly. So, an increase in population bloom have led to shortage of food, scarcity of fresh water, deficiency of energy and less jobs. These has led to alternate source of income by entrepreneurship. Career and Professional Astrology is one of the most interesting, complicated subject which I have dealt with as these depends on various factors and divisional charts as per Vedic astrology.

As per Vedic Astrology, the tenth house from a Vedic horoscope is considered to be the house of professional or career. So, generally, your life’s accomplishment and position is seen from these house. The astrological planets in this house were directly over your head, when you are born. That means if Planet Sun is sitting in your tenth house, that means you were born around 12 plus minus one hour in the afternoon, when the Sun was directly over-head. Planet Sun gets directional strength in this combination and the native receives acclamation in the society due to this position. Any Astrological Planets sitting in this house, no matter if it is friendly, unfriendly or neutral to the house lord will provide its best results until, not in aspect with malefic planets.

So, any change or upliftment of career takes place, when one is under the Maha-dasha or Anter-Dasha of the tenth house lord or the planets sitting in the tenth house. Also, if Saturn crosses over the 6th or 11th sign from the moon, there is an over-all upliftment in career as well as life. Jupiter having its aspect on the 10th house will also lead to betterment in the career. Rahu crossing over the tenth house will create difficulties in one’s career or profession. Here I am not speaking about business or entrepreneurship. Planet Rahu will uplift as well as disturb the tenth house during its transition. Planet Sun in the tenth house will likely to provide more strength to the tenth house except libra zodiac, where it gets debilitated. Moon in the tenth house or crossing the tenth house will lead to creativity and creative work in one’s career. Venus in the tenth house will likely to provide the native with an elegant office. Saturn crossing over the tenth house is likely to provide protection to the native from ups and downs. Planet Ketu crossing over the tenth house will lead to some daily routine jobs of same types like banking jobs, where it is almost the same thing repeated for each customer. Mars crossing over the tenth house will lead to difficulties in the profession, if not Mars is well placed in the tenth house like Aries Zodiac, Scorpio Zodiac, Leo Zodiac etc.

For analysis of the tenth house, one need to also analyse the 7th house from Ascendant, 6th house from the Ascendant, the D10 divisional chart and the strongest planet in one’s horoscope and if any planet has exaltation or debilitation in the chart. The tenth house from the ascendant in Vedic Astrology deals with ones career and profession. From the ancient days, people wanted to know about ones social status, name and fame when one grows older. Career have always been considered to be the center stage of a society, cutting across all boundaries and profession. In ancient times, fore-tellers used to be consulted by the Kings and Nobles about the future of one’s kingdom and whether their off springs can take the reigns of the empire forward. Well from those days and till today, there is no difference in the same thought process.

In vedic astrology the tenth house from the ascendant is an answer to one’s career, one’s work profile, one’s profession, ones promotion, one’s rise to name and fame etc. Tenth House is the strongest Kendra House from the Ascendant. Tenth house also shows one’s kingdom, which may be created during his/her lifetime. Tenth house has lots to deal with Government, ones rank, status and position of authority, public esteem, ruling powers, ones honour in a society and many more. When one speaks about living abroad, it is also analyses from this house. The parts of the body that symbolizes the tenth house is the backbone, ones knees, left part of the nose, left arm fit and left thigh etc.

Hence the tenth lord becomes very important in terms of one’s profession. A combust tenth lord or a very weak tenth lord, leads to many struggles in one’s life. On the other land a strength tenth house gives glory and fame to the individual. Sun in the tenth house gets directional strength, Venus in the tenth house generally becomes weak, mars in the tenth house helps to get jobs which are aggressive in nature, mercury in the tenth house leads to jobs where significant amount of documentations and speech are required, moon in the tenth house can make a native politician or gets success in liquid business and water, Jupiter in the tenth house leads to jobs in the teaching or spiritual field, its also for the best publishers, best advisors etc, Rahu in the tenth house leads to career in the disaster management field and if Saturn is well placed, the person generally succeed in politics, becomes ministers and effective administrators. Ketu in the tenth house generally provides one a routine job. By that I mean a job or profession, which is regular in nature like doing the same type of job day after day.

Let’s now discuss about planets placed in tenth house from ascendant in details. Here, let’s discuss with the condition that only a single planet is placed in the tenth house without any afflictions.

Sun in 10th House: If planet Sun is in the tenth house in a favorable position, it makes the native intelligent, learned, famous and self confident. Sun gets directional strength in this house. Generally, with this position the native tries to be a leader. However, this position also gives a lot of worry to the native. Work life is always very positive for these natives, if not afflicted by any planets like Rahu or Saturn. If Moon is combined with Sun, the natives will have high ego. This may be the reason for their downfall one day.

Moon in 10th House: If planet Moon is in the tenth house and in a favorable position, then the native will be successful and popular. The native will have tendency to change profession and a powerful moon will lead the native to meet many people in powerful positions. There will be good longevity of the native, if the Moon is powerful.

Mars in 10th House: If planet Mars is in the tenth House, then the native will be highly ambitious and successful but will be self centered. There will be a chance that the native may face charges of using foul language and the native’s aggression may lead to downfall. However, if Mars is very powerful, the native will take up jobs which needs aggression and will be a highly skilled person with lots of riches and authority. However, if Mars is afflicted, the native will get trouble through servants, enemies, litigation or maternal uncle to the native’s children.

Mercury in 10th House: If planet Mercury is in the tenth House then the native will be eloquent, happy, bold and learned in a subject. The native tends to be highly educated. Whatever the job the person be in, the native will be very enthusiastic about gaining knowledge. Due to this, the native will be well known amongst the masses. Due to very meticulous observation and study, the native will be successful in profession. However if Mercury is not placed in a benefic house or remain afflicted, then it will cause significant trouble to the native.

Jupiter in 10th House: If planet Jupiter is in the tenth House, then the native will be learned in law, education or governing. But Jupiter in 10th house will also create troubles for the native in getting a good job. However, on the other hand, whatever the native will begin will one day, provide good dividends. Due to Jupiter, the native will gain by long voyages. If an adverse Saturn affects Jupiter here, the good effects of Jupiter significantly reduces.

Venus in the 10th House: If planet Venus is in the tenth house, then the native may pursue an artistic career and earn well from it. The native may be under a female boss, if in service. The natives may have a pleasing career and may be appointed as head of an institution on the basis of its contacts. Venus in the tenth house tends to be weak and jupiter if aspects venus here, will provide a good career.

Saturn in the 10th House: If planet Saturn is in the tenth house, then the native will be highly disciplined and perserving. The native will get a stable job and will work hard to reach ones goal. The native will observe the rise as well as fall in career. The native may come from an ordinary family and will have growth in life but slowly. But its always said that slow and steady wins the race. However, the relation of the mother with the native may not be as good.

Rahu in the 10th House: If planet Rahu is placed in the tenth house, then the native will have many ups and downs in the career. On one side the native will see many highs and on the other hand there will be frustation in the job also. Rahu also helps the native to do polictics as well as become Ministers or head of the Institutions.

Ketu in the 10th House: If planet Ketu is placed in the tenth house, then the native will do a routine job. There may be sudden gains in the job and bosses will remain pleased with the native. Since 10th House is the Kendra house, Planet Ketu will give good results. The native will also be spiritual in nature.
