marsplanet
Mangal dosh or Bhaumya dosh is formed in one’s chart when the astrological planet Mars sits in one’s Ascendant (first house), fourth house, eighth house or the twelfth house of a Vedic chart. Some astrologers also see Mangal Dosha from the sign/House Moon is placed. So, as per them if planet Mars sits in first house, fourth house, eighth house or the twelfth house from the Moon in ones horoscope then also an individual will have Mangal Dosh.
It is said that if this planetary position is powerful in one’s horoscope, then it brings strains in matrimonial relationships, have difficulty in marriage and may lead to demise of one’s life partner. These planetary placements of Lord Mars also resist a native to find a life partner for oneself. While this conditions or situations seem scary but is Mangal dosh that bad, lets analysis.
Personally I feel Mangal dosh has its own merits and demerits and an individual acts based on one’s planetary combination. As per my personal analysis, if the native have Mangal Dosh, then the individual will have high level of energy and if the other person does not match that energy plane, it’s the beginning of a problem. Mangal Dosh makes a person short tempered, however it is the horoscope of those who are great fighters and have emerged successful in life after winning many battles of life. These are humans who are unstoppable and after many failures emerge out in flying colours.
Mangal Dosh in a horoscope reduces, if Mars is placed with a planet which is benefic e.g Planet Jupiter and placed in the Kendra houses. Also if the Ascendant of the native is Cancer, Leo, Aries or Sagittarius then Mars becomes a Yoga Karaka planet and hence the effect of Mangal Dosh reduces. As per some astrologers after the age of 28, Mangal Dosh reduces. Mangal Dosh also hampers rise in professional career.
In some cases Mangal Dosh is reduced significantly i.e if the horoscope of the boy and girl has the same dosha, then after marriage the negative impacts of Mangal dosh gets reduced. Also if benefic planets as per the ascendant is placed in all kendras i.e 1st house, 4th house, 7th house and 10th house then Mangal dosh is significantly reduced. It is also said that if Mars is placed in its own House, it generally does not cause any adverse effects. Also Jupiter aspect Mars reduces Mangal dosha to a large extent.

Let’s now discuss about the planet Mars and what it signifies. Mars is a fiery planet and is the lord of war. Mars is the karaka for one’s physical and mental strength, things which are produced out of the earth, immovable property, one’s younger brother & sister and one’s courage. It also signifies soldier, bone marrow and energy. Hence it rules these aspects in life i.e enthusiasm, generosity, boldness, self-confidence, organizing ability, leadership etc.
Now let’s discuss at these positive facts keeping aside the negative impacts:
Mars in the first house i.e ascendant helps one to take care of one’s health and is generally health conscious. The native tries to be independent, moody and is physically powerful. Mars in the fourth house helps a native to have a good career out of many challenges. Mars in the eighth house makes one violent if not placed with benefic planet but also may make one an internal motivator. Mars in the twelfth house if placed in a good position will raise his younger sister or brother in a powerful position.
Generally if Mars is not placed in its friendly sign, problems arise in the bhav or house its placed and the things the particular house signifies. So, what can be the remedies for reducing the Mangal Dosha? The remedy depends based on horoscope analysis but generally the effects of Mangal Dosha are reduced when one prays to ones spiritual Guru or to Lord Shiva.
The above write-up is a general prediction and these are my personal views, which may not match with astrologers. This is based on my experience of reading this subject and looking into the practicalities of the situation based on horoscope analysis for all these years.
